Who we are

inorout.io ("InorOut", "we", "us") is a team-management app for hockey teams. Managers use it to run rosters, schedules, RSVPs, lineups, team payments and team communication; players and substitutes use it to respond to games, chat with teammates and keep track of what they owe.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to the inorout.io website and app.

02

Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Account details: your name, email address and password, or the details provided by Google if you sign in with Google.
  • Profile details: avatar or photo, jersey number, position, skill level and leadership role (captain or alternate).
  • Team details a manager enters: team name, season, logo, colors, rinks, dues and fee amounts, and payment contact handles such as a Venmo username or Zelle phone/email.
  • Roster details a manager enters about players they invite: name, email, optional phone number, position and jersey number.
  • Game activity: RSVPs (in, out, maybe), optional private reasons for being out, lineups, scores and player stats such as goals, assists and penalty minutes.
  • Content you post: chat messages, announcements, polls and votes, comments, reactions, and photos or videos uploaded to the team gallery.
  • Payment reports: amounts, methods and notes you record when telling your manager you paid, or that a manager records for you.
  • Support requests you send us.

Information collected automatically: basic usage and device information (such as browser type, pages visited and when you last used the app) that helps us keep the service secure and working.

Calendar feeds: if a manager connects a league calendar link, we periodically fetch that feed to import game times and locations.

03

Payments

Dues and fees between players and managers are settled outside InorOut (for example through Venmo, Zelle or cash). InorOut only records what you or your manager report; we never receive or hold that money and we don't see your Venmo, Zelle or bank login.

If you buy an ad-free upgrade, the payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly; we receive only limited information such as your email, the purchase, its status and a customer reference. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the information it processes.

04

How we use information

  • To provide the service: create your account, connect you to your team, show schedules, RSVPs, lineups, balances and team chat.
  • To send service messages: team invitations, game reminders (about 24 hours before an event, unless you've marked yourself out), RSVP nudges, fee notices and payment updates.
  • To keep the community safe: review flagged content, enforce our Terms and protect against abuse, fraud and security incidents.
  • To support you: respond to questions and troubleshoot problems.
  • To improve InorOut: understand which features are used so we can fix issues and make the app better.
  • To show ads to teams and players who haven't purchased the ad-free upgrade.
05

Who can see your information

InorOut is built around teams, and most information is visible only to members of your team:

  • Teammates can see your name, avatar, position, jersey number, RSVP status, lineup spot, stats and anything you post in team chat or the gallery.
  • Your team's manager can additionally see your email, phone number, payment status and balances, and your private reason for being out of a game. Private out reasons are not shown to other players.
  • Payment amounts and dues tracking are limited to managers and the player they relate to.
  • InorOut staff may access information when needed to operate the service, respond to support requests or review reported content.
06

Sharing with others

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who help us run InorOut, such as our hosting and database platform, email delivery and Stripe for payments, who may use it only to provide services to us.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or InorOut.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

If a manager shares the team's calendar subscription link, anyone with that link can see the team's game schedule (dates, times, opponents and rinks), but not player information.

07

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When a manager deletes a team, that team's events, RSVPs, stats, lineups, messages, media and payment records are deleted along with it.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time through the Support page. We may keep limited information where needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

08

Your choices and rights

  • Update your profile details at any time from your profile.
  • Choose whether to share a phone number; it's optional.
  • Leave a team or ask your manager to remove you from the roster.
  • Request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by contacting us through the Support page.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict certain processing. We'll respond to requests as required by applicable law.
09

Security

We use access controls that keep each team's data separated from other teams, restrict payment information to managers, and use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Uploaded photos and videos are stored privately and shown to your team through temporary links. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

10

Children

InorOut is intended for adult recreational and league players and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us through the Support page and we'll delete it. Managers of youth teams should only add players with the consent of a parent or guardian.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as InorOut changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app or by email.
